Abstract

Background: Normal maternal thyroid function is crucial for fetal growth andneurocognitive development. Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is a multifactorialcondition resulting from maternal, placental, or fetal factors. Any imbalance in maternalthyroid function may adversely affect both mother and fetus.
