Background: Orthodontic pain, affecting 70–95% of patients within 24–72 hours followingarchwire placement, represents the most prevalent adverse effect of fixed appliance therapyand significantly impacts treatment adherence and quality of life. Despite its ubiquity, clinical practice remains heterogeneous without robust comparative evidence to guide decisionmaking.
