Abstract

Background: Hyperhomocysteinaemiapromotes oxidative stress, endothelialdysfunction, and vascular injury and may contribute to the microvascular andmacrovascular complications of diabetesmellitus. Poor glycaemic control and prolonged duration of diabetes may furtherinfluence homocysteine metabolism.
