Abstract

Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a complex neuropsychiatric syndrome resulting from liver dysfunction and portal-systemic shunting, with hyperammonemia and systemic inflammation playing critical roles in its pathogenesis. This study aimed to evaluate serum ammonia levels and inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), in patients with hepatic encephalopathy.
